Therapists suggest that if this exercise is properly carried out in a prescribed way the it can help you get relief from issues like stress, fatigue, head ache and even depressions which at times cannot be cured from medical treatments.

Other benefits of Prasarita Padottanasana range from relieving you from mild back ache to toning your abdomen and related organs. Furthermore it works by stretching and hence strengthening you inner and back legs along with your spinal cord that calms your brain relieving you from stress.

The easiest way to do this effective and short yoga exercise is by standing in a mountain pose with your head and feet on the ground while your back high up in the air. Your head and feet shall be supported by hands on the floor. Here you have to draw your knuckles inside your feet and stand on your toes. Continue to exhale and inhale while extending your elbows to the fullest.

For elongating the front torso you will have to push your thighs to towards the back straight. Now bend your elbow downwards in order to take a full bend forward as long as possible. During this you have to press the inner side of your palms on the floor and move your shoulders away from your ears. You have to stay in this pose for at least about a minute.
