Locust Pose and its benefits

Salabhasana (Locust Pose)

Yoga is known as the most effective of all exercises since it works wonders by not only comforting you physically but also relieving you of all your stress and depression mentally while giving you a relaxed and serene demeanor.

However the cost you have to pay for these comforts is slightly high initially as later when you get amazing results and you get acquainted with the whole thing it appears minute.

Salabhasana (Locust Pose) is one exercise of yoga which is known for its potential benefits like stretching your spine muscles, back of arms and legs and buttocks.

Furthermore it stretches your shoulders, belly, thighs along with improving your posture that stimulates your abdomen and hence relaxes you relieving all stress and anxiety.

For getting effective results it is mandatory to follow all the steps in this exercise appropriately. Following is the correct way of doing Salabhasana (Locust Pose).

  • You have to start off by padding your stomach under the pelvis with a blanket on the floor since the Salabhasana (Locust Pose) is all about remaining in contact with the floor in a correct way.
  • Now lie on the floor with your stomach on the floor with the support of your palms. Move your toes upwards and rotate your thighs inwards.

While doing all these steps you have to ensure that you continue breathing in and out!

  • Tighten your buttocks and reach them for elongating your back legs.
  • Now you have to raise your arms while stretching backwards and pushing your scapula tightly in the back.
  • Now look forward and ensure that your back is crunched.

Make sure that your head up in the air while your neck back elongated. You have to remain in this pose for about 1 minute and then inhale some air. Repetition of this task twice a day can bring about great results.
